Rain..rain..and more rain...

So Wimbledon must be on its way then as the rain has started!! Luckily for me I have a cosy studio to work from.

I'm just in the middle of reviewing my website and whilst I work on the updates, I thought I'd post some new stuff to view right here. A set of textured designs, simple but lovely to look at:

These designs won't be available through The Home Art Studio website for a while, but if you like what you see, let me know - maybe order one, any colour, any size, now I can't say fairer than that can I?

Inspiration at last..

At last, after looking/thinking/practicing for a good few days now, I have found my new inspiration in the form of Alexander Girard. An architect and Textile Designer (no wonder I feel inspired!) from New York. Fab patterns, textures and colours, take a look below:

Can you believe it is May 2011...

....reading back on some of my blog posts and I am aware that I seem to have written the same thing quite often - ie, 'it's been a long time since I last posted etc etc....' but it's true, the last one is dated 2009, can you believe that it is now May 2011!!!

Such a long time has passed, well I haven't been idle (not too much anyway) I have been busy building stock and creating new designs for both my home and kids website(s) which I will be sharing over the coming months.

I will try try try to keep all my blogs up to date, then I can write fun things instead of repeating myself.

Unfortunately my laptop has died, hopefully I will be able to retrieve the info off it, but who knows. So I'm using another laptop to post this update, then I am back to using paintbrushes and pens (just how I like it).

Nearly the weekend

I've also just realised how long it has been since I last blogged - well I can blame technical issues (b'cos that's true to a certain degree) but I've been Twittering and Social Networking like you wouldn't believe. It is a whole new world out there, and I quote from something I saw in an O'Neill's bar once - 'There are no strangers out there, just friends you haven't met yet'. And I have to say I've been pleasantly surprised at the feedback and help I have received. I am a convert :0).

Leaflets Marketing & Spotify

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick note to let you know what's new for The Home Art Studio. I'm currently working on a range called Stratosphere, here's a taster of what it's all about - what do you think?

Also found a fab new music website - click onto: www.spotify.co.uk if you haven't already heard of it, it allows you to play all the music you want to hear, suggests new music you may want to listen to, creates playlists and it's all free - it's great try it out.

Back in my sunny studio

I'm in my sunny studio, I've got the windows open, the birds are
singing and the bees are buzzing - Spring has truly arrived and
put a smile on my face :0).

I had a great week last week. After Easter, I sold another painting through the Baby Shop - my giraffe (see below) has gone to a lovely new home. Also had the opportunity to do a lovely name canvas - a commission for a friend for a Christening. So with that success I am now working on more fun children's artworks - look out for a snappy croc coming your way soon!

The day before...

So one more day to go and I'm just completing the last finishing touches to my artwork. It's been a busy week, working on new ideas and a commission, but hopefully it will all be worth it over the weekend.

I'm looking forward to the show, and looking forward to a week off next week in the sun, where I intend to take some time to develop new products - so keep your eyes peeled on my website http://www.thehomeartstudio.com/ for new stuff.

Just received some great news from The Baby Shop in St Albans - a call to say they have sold one of my paintings :0) - so if you get a minute and are passing by, then pop in to see some of my work on display.

Countdown to Craft Fair....

Hi all,

What a great day - the sun is shining, I'm painting away in my studio with the birds singing - what more could you ask for?

So just two more weeks before the Craft Fair in Guildford, and I'm really busy. I will be showing both Home Art and Kids Art, (a sneak preview attached)
